Refferals

I have to say that I have never written so many refferals in the last 8 days teaching, than I have at this school. I have had a good Friday and Monday, there were only three written. I was pretty excited because it means that I have had a good day. There was a small altercation with the elementary kids too. Overall, it was a good day!

Tomorrow, we are going to have a little Thanksgiving buffet/potluck thing at work. I, being the phenomenal cook that I am, decided to take rolls and butter. I found out that other people are bringing much more elaborate choices, like homemade pecan pie, and other things like that. Now, I just have to get through the normal work day.....

More about work

So, while the first two days were incredibly hectic, things have slowed down a bit. The kid with the knife got expelled, two or three others were suspended or expelled, and it has been a little quiet this week.
Today, we had a half fight, although the other student was provoking the one who hit the other, but it happened during my class, so it was a little crazy. I had some defiance with another class too. The kids don't understand that they should come to the teacher first and respond later so that I can have the full story instead of only half the story. My high school classes are a little smaller, so that is good. If I were to have all the students there, one class would be at 46 and the other is at 50. Life is not so bad, I figure I am there to learn and grow from the students and the other teachers.

New Job

O.K. I started my new job this last week, and must admit that it was very eye-opening for me. There was one fight, which involved pulling hair extensions and other things, but it was broken up quickly. I am enjoying it, although still getting the lay of the land. I know that I am going to learn so much for the rest of this year. I can almost guarentee it. Anyway...

My youngest "kid" has been really sick for the last couple of days, and that definately made me sad because she was a disaster and felt really ill. It's sad because I can't really help her sometimes because I leave early for work, and arrive home late also, because of the commute. Anyway, besides that, still waiting for the house to sell so that we can move again.

Halloween Week

I love the little kids costumes on Halloween. However, as we were passing out candy, everytime I opened the door, I got the high school and junior high kids. Everytime my significant other opened the door, the cute little kids were there. I couldn't believe it.

I also had an interview for a teaching position on Halloween, and had a great time doing it. I even went out to lunch with a friend afterwards. It was quite a nice experience too.

Yesterday, it rained, and the only thing important about the rain was my dog's reaction to it. They got soaked yesterday because the tarp in their kennel had holes. After I took them for a walk, I put them in their garage kennels to dry a bit. After about an hour and a half, I let them out. The little one ran in and out and around in circles. "Who cares about the rain?" she is thinking. My older dog walked out the door, felt the first drop, and walked right back in to his garage kennel. It was the funniest thing to watch. The older dog also got pretty fluffy after he dried and kinda looked like a fluffy, furry teddy bear. It was so cute.

Anyway, life is good here in the back country. God always provides.
