Merry Christmas and Holidays

It has been a wile, but I have heard some interesting things from friends and relatives. Some things happening in my world...

There is snow in the Northlands, that has pretty much wiped out driving and other things. We have had rain. The little one gained three pounds and the smallest seems to have gained some too. Our basketball team may win some and lose some, but overall are looking good.

I am really excited this year because my six foot blow-up Christmas Cactus is out front this year, and I will be campaigning to get it to the grass in the front of the yard next year. January will be busy, but life will go on.

Life (and fish)

Wowee!!!

It has been awhile. I think my dad even beat me since the last time I wrote on my blog. Work has been a little crazy for the last two weeks, but I did earn a blue belt in Akido recently. Some are wondering what is up. Well...we had our first rainy weekend in about a year, so we were excited, but the yard isn't done so we keep having to take the dog for a walk to do her buisness. I refuse to let mud in the house. Also, the Other has caught a huge fish over the summer/fall. Here is a picture... we are having it stuffed, or should I say the "other" is?

The animals are doing fine, and I have to admit that I don't use facebook that much, but it is handy if you want to find friends that you haven't talked to in years. I now have two such people and am in the process of "catching up". Pretty quiet besides that.

The summer

Wow, I am surprised that anyone checks this anymore since I am such a slacker about writing. Anyway, life is nice when you have a six week break, although it is already starting to loom in front of me....

People are finally moving in across the street, and the constuction supervisor hooked us up with who six of the neighbors are and is coming back to tell us the others that will be right across the street. We have some military, a firefighter, a corrections officer, among others. We BBQ out front to see what the haps is in the neighborhood.

I also got a new pair of rollerblades and am trying to teach Myia how to pull me on them, however we trained her too well and all she wants to do is to run alongside me, sometimes bumping into me.

I am also learning how to bass fish. Man, they have so many different rods and reels. I am practicing in the backyard so I don't backwash into my reel. Speaking of the backyard... our garden is going nuts. Our many tomato plants are so big and heavy that they don't want to stay on the ropes or the metal cages that we put around them. Our first watermelon is the size of a baseball, and our pickling cucumbers are starting to come in. Our crooknose squash has yielded at least four so far and is a huge bush. Our corn is up past my waist, and our lemon is patiently waiting for its season. We have so many flowers everywhere on our vines and plants.

I am going to put in a picture of the new car so that all can see it, and the smoke here was so bad, that the Clear Lake picture that I am including is hazy from the smoke. Anyway, will try to be more consistent. Isn't that what we all say?

Hey, I did write down all my information, so I can once again start blogging about the things going on in my life. Right now the little ones are grumbling at each other and I am taking a break from cleaning. The coolest thing happened the other day. My significant and I were on a drive, and I saw my first ever pheasant. It was so cool. So, now that I have access again, I will be a little more consistent posting than my last one. Not as consistent as my bro, but I will try.

Live, and let Live policy

With the advent of this smaller house, all of our animals make for an interesting time. When the cats first got here, I kept them trapped in one room while the dog was in, then I would trap the pup in her kennel and let the cats run the house. Well, two days ago I instituted the live and let live policy where the dog is always out, and the cats are not locked up. One of the cats chose to spend the day in one of the closets where the dog couldn't get her, and the other cat spent the day sleeping under the blankets on our bed and then complaining to the dog when she got too close to him. It is pretty fun to watch. I am hoping that eventually they will all get along, but the truth about most dogs and cats is that it doesn't usually happen. I am sure that I will have more stories later.

An addendum to the profanity comment on BHR: You don't want to hear all the racial profanity that the younger generation says to each other, it isn't very nice and incredibly degrading, although they don't think of it like that.

This summer

I decided not to work this summer because I have a 12 month paycheck, and I have to admit that at this point I am a little bit bored, but excited because the house we are renting is finally inhabitable with no boxes, except the one that I am using a a trash can in the office. It is so nice to finally be settled. My other is now on graves, so I get to see him for only a few hours everyday.

My family and nieces came by to see the house and it was really nice to see them. They even got to see/meet my other, who is usually working so he is never available. It is nice to be a little way out of the city where it is a little quieter.

Work starts back up in about another three weeks or so, and I am going to make the most of it until then. I am also intrigued by the influenza of 1918, and have started a book that tells about it. That, then, has made me interested in the first world war, which not a lot of channels or networks have told us about. They always focus on the second, of which we were a more integral part. Anyway, I will let you know what I find out about this fascinating time in history.

OK, I have been trying to write on my blog for the last couple of weeks, and this new system is never recognizing me so I have to keep going to the help e-mails anytime that I want to do something in this program. I am so incredibly frustrated that you have no idea what it is like to log in every time. Grrr!!!!!

Life....

So, I apologize that it has been so long, but work got a hold of me and then wouldn't let go, and I was stressed and just didn't want to write about it. Enough excuses, let me tell you about my last week at work.

So, the last week at work, I actually got one lunch out of five. The first ones I missed was because two junior high students kicked another two in the head, so I was dealing with the police during my lunch. The second was a four on one fight right at the end of the PE period the next day. I was dealing with the police and parents again for that one. Then there was a few other incidences, and also a couple high school issues, like drug dealing and assault on the head administrator. So, I am enjoying the rest of this week that ended school. Much quieter, and less stressful.

On to good news, my partner and I are no longer in the apartment with the pot smoking kids outside and the crazy people living above us. We found a house in the country to rent, I mean we are talking pigs, goats, chickens, a huge garden, just a ton of stuff. I was moving some things over this morning, and as I was taking a load in, I looked to the left, and saw one of the chickens in the yard. A CHICKEN!!! Talk about surprised (for a city girl). My partner says that it will toughen me up, and I am excited because I may try my hand at jam making. It is also so quiet out there that it is nuts.

Anyway, I am off to finish packing and moving the little stuff.

Spring Break

So, at the beginning of the week, my other and I took a trip up to see our puppy. Here is a picture of her chasing a ball. We had a lot of fun up there.

I also went and visited my sister, which was a lot of fun. It was gorgeous down there in the Monterrey area. We went golfing, I got to meet and hang out with her friends, and got to play a game of sequence, and watch a movie. It was really great.

News from work (yes, it's been a while)

Well, just finished a week off, and I will say that I enjoyed it a lot. Now, that is another story, but here's about work first...

Since March, I think that is the last time I wrote, there have been some fights, and my significant other and I have been discussing a new place of work for me. I will definately use this a backup, but I am inclined to agree with my other. A co-worker and I have hit it off, and have done some extra curricular get togethers, which have been a lot of fun. That pretty much sums up work for the last month.

We also finally moved closer to work, so hurrah for that. We brought one of the little ones with us, and if I sit down, he comes and sits on me, even if he was on my other's lap first. It is pretty funny, if he weren't so loud.

Anyway, onwards to spring break....
