A brief thought

So the weeks are getting busier and busier. There are some things I learned from high school students. The first is that they are bigger and when they fall out of their chairs, they make a huge thump. The second is that I have discovered that I like high school students a bit more than junior high, although I do still like them. Be back later

A Walk

We took our girl dog with us this afternoon to go fishing with us. There are some things that I found out.

1. Two standard poodles can beat a german shepard.

2. My dog needs to learn how to swim without throwing her paws up over her head while paddling.

3. We actually caught a fish with her running around in the water.

These are three things I would have never believed possible before we went on our walk.

Promises

So, I have discovered recently that most promises are just not kept, that and the fact that everything moves slower in this state I have moved to. So, back to the promises. People make them (more than one) and then I am to blame for the failure of the people to keep them. It is so frustrating sometimes when I am trying to communicate to people. I don't know, maybe it is that way, and maybe it is because I have had so long to do nothing and now I will be starting work again tomorrow. It isn't that I am upset about this, but it can be a little problematic sometimes. Anyway, just my thoughts on the process.....

5 things I learn from my dogs...

So, I was watching my dogs play this afternoon, and I discovered five things that they have taught me....

5. If it itches, scratch it.

4. Exercise every day keeps the pounds off the ribs.

3. Being outside is relaxing.

2. Two is better than one.

1. It is ok to use the other siblings tricks in a disagreement.

Now, it may seem weird, but my brother and sister both have birds on their profiles, but how much cooler can this guy be? Each to their own, I guess.

A short tribute to the Crocodile Hunter

Steve Irwin was a great man. I will be one of the first to admit that I thought it was a little stupid to get so close to animals, but he did it so that people could see animals up close and personal. Yes, he had a dangerous lifestyle, but he did many things for conservation of these animals that no one really wanted to take a chance on. The media is saying that he will be missed, and I agree, the world will need to look hard for another hands-on conservationalist who is as popular as the "Crocodile Hunter."

Labor Day Weekend

My weekend started on Friday (I know, how can a weekend start if you don't have a job, but bear with me). We surprised one neice with going to a Six Flags Theme Park, that had animals as part of it's exhibits. You can be amazed at the focus of a 5 year old when they see something they are interested in. They can stare for what seems like hours at the same thing.

It was a lot of fun. I think my favorite part was watching a white tiger dive for chicken in his pool. I got a picture of him smooshed into the protective glass. The other part I liked was that we went to a wildlife show, and I got to see a serval, a cheetah, a caracal (I think that's how you spell it), and a bat. I know, which of these animals don't belong, but I am a batty person.

After this experience, the child and family came up for most of the weekend. It was fun, but tiring when the five-year-old only wants to be with you and your husband. Everyone else falls to the wayside. I don't mind, because she told us that she wanted to be like us. It was cute.

Hopefully, the pictures will download. I will try to only do two. I've been having problems with it for a couple of months.

Been awhile....

Sorry, life has been busy trying to find a job. The exciting thing that I just found out about, I know a little late, is that my sister has a new/used car. I am thrilled that she does. Not that I didn't like Princess, but she was well loved.

In other news, some of which will be another tiny article, life is good here in my state. Education is getting a much needed reform, although we aren't sure when it will be in affect, and it feels like fall here. The fog is georgous in the morning, and I have gotten some good pictures at the lake.

As for the job hunt, sub teaching it is, unfortunately. Life took a hold and said this is what you should do now. At least I will get paid...

I know that all my blog entries are shorter than some, but you know, my writing is like that sometimes.

I am excited that two of my neices started Kindergarten, and that my other one started preschool. They are all growing up so quickly...
